TONY rotary drum dryer uses a screw conveyor to continuously feed it into the drying tube. The process of evaporating the moisture in wet materials during the transportation and dispersion of high-speed hot air flow to obtain dry products in powder or granular form. It is mainly composed of an air heater, a feeder, an air flow drying tube, a cyclone separator, a fan, etc. After the wet materials are added to the dryer, under the action of the evenly distributed rakes in the drum, the materials are evenly dispersed in the dryer and fully contact with the hot air, which speeds up the drying process

Working Principle

Drum main body
It is rolled from steel plates, installed at an Angle of 3° to 5°, and driven to rotate by a motor (with a rotational speed of 3 to 8 revolutions per minute).
The inner wall is welded with "lifting plates" (such as lift type or paddle type) to lift sawdust and increase the contact area with the hot air flow.
Heat source device
Optional coal-fired furnaces, gas furnaces, oil furnaces, electric heating or biomass pellet burners are available. Choose based on environmental protection requirements and costs.
The temperature of the hot air flow is usually controlled at 200 to 400ºC (the ignition point of sawdust is approximately 250ºC, and over-temperature should be avoided).
Transmission system
Including the motor, reducer, gear/idler set, to ensure the smooth rotation of the drum.
Feeding and discharging device
A screw feeder is installed at the feeding end, and a screening device (for filtering large particles that have not been dried) is provided at the discharging end.

TONY Rotary Drum Dryer is composed of stove, main rotary body,screw conveyor, cyclone separator, air-lock, fan and matched pipes which can realize to reduce the moisture from 45%-10%.
TONY Rotary Drum Dryer adopts direct flow type of heating with heat soure from firing unit. The material to be dried is pushed back immindiately by spiral board when enters the shell from feeding tank and feeding chute. Because the dryer is installed in slope, material flows to the back end under gravity and rotation force, meanwhile, it is lifted by board repeatedly and thrown down accordingly, which make the material form even curtain, and exchange heat sufficiently with inner the heat flow. In the end, water in the material is dried by repeatedly scattering.
Rotary dryer is mainly composed of heating device,feeding device, supporting device, cylinder, gears, discharging device and so on. Rotary dryer's main body is a rotary cylinder with a certain inclination, equipped with combustion chamber, exhaust device, dust collector, and feeding device. High-temperature flue gas is used as the drying medium, which enters the dryer under the suction of ventilation device

1. Crushing process:
The raw material used to make wood pellets must be broken to a small size, and pellet machine users typically use a wood chipper to cut the wood into pieces 2.5 cm (0.98 in) or smaller
2. Fine crushing process:
Using a hammer mill, smaller pieces are crushed and cut into very small particles, reducing the size of the raw material to 5 mm (0.20 in). Some users will choose the pre-treated sawdust and can skip this step.
3. Drying process:
Drying the raw material to the proper moisture content is essential for the manufacture of high quality particles. Before granulation, it is necessary to ensure that the water content of the raw material is about 10%-15%. For a small batch of particles, the raw material can be left in the sun for at least 24 hours to dry naturally; For larger batches, a dryer can be used to dry the raw material to the desired moisture content.
4.Pelleting process:
The most commonly used equipment for granulation is the pellet machine. TONY's new 304 stainless steel vertical ring die pellet machine is extruded by ring die and press roll, the raw material is squeezed into the ring die hole to form, and constantly extruded to the outer end. When pelleting, it is necessary to ensure the uniform feed to prevent the blocking caused by too fast feed.
5. Cooling process:
When the molding particles leave the pellet machine, the particles themselves will be hot and release water vapor, so they must be cooled and dried, which can make them harder.
6. Packaging process:
Once the particles are cooled, they are transported to a packaging facility, packed and stored in a dry place.
It is important to note that different pellet manufacturers may have different process details and quality control standards.
